Native Connections

Native Connections is 5 year grant program from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  Program is designed to prevent and reduce suicidal behavior and substance misuse and promote mental health among tribal young people up to and including age 24.  By the end of the first year, Native Connections Spirit Lake Tribe Cohort 2 will develop a strategic action plan (SAP) based upon the community readiness assessment (CRA), follow up protocols, crisis response protocols as well as a written plan for suicide prevention.  Substance abuse prevention and mental health promotion activities as planned for subsequent years 2-5 based on CRA and service delivery system analysis.  The NC office is located in the Tribal Health Department.
