DIRECTIONS:

Driving from the East or West on Ephraim Hill Road (paved BIA Route 6), turn onto the gravel road (BIA Rounte 23) about 1/2 a mile to the SLRW facility.

PROGRAM AT A GLANCE:

Located on 17 acres of pristine woodlands, adjacent to the Sullys Hill Wildlife Refuge and the Spirit Lake Tribal Bison Range in the city of Ft. Totten, the Spirit Lake Recovery and Wellness program is conveniently located 1.5 miles from Fort Totten, seven miles from the St. Michaels District community, five miles from the Crowhill District community, eleven miles to the Woodlake District community, and about thirteen miles or so from the city of Devils Lake, North Dakota.  Accessibility and convenience to our current location and program services is vital to the Spirit Lake tribal population and surrounding counties in North Dakota.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The Spirit Lake Recovery & Wellness program is a community-based program serving the Native American/Non-Native population in the surrounding counties.  It is licensed by the State of North Dakota, Department of Human Services-Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and funded by the Indian Health Service Agency and North Dakota Mental Health and Substance Abuse agency to provide the foillowing services:

•Intensive Outpatient Treatment
•Aftercare Services
•Alcohol and Drug Education
•DUI Evaluation and DUI Seminar classes
•Individual/Group Counseling
•Cultural programming
•Anger Management/Domestic Violence
•Family Parenting, Family Therapy, and Child Therapy
•Relapse Prevention
•Transportation Services
•Talking Circles
•A.A. Meetings

STAFF:

We have two licensed Addiction counselors, family therapist, prevention outreach staff, driver, office manager, office receptionist, prevention resource staff.
